Writing an essay from scratch is a rather difficult task, especially if you do not have the necessary experience.

To write a good essay, you need to have not only the necessary knowledge and ability to express your point of view, but also many other skills, such as writing or analyzing information. But this is also not enough, because if you do not know the basics, you will not be able to write a single essay. The foundations are theoretical knowledge of the structure of the essay, design requirements, and so on. Without theoretical knowledge, it is impossible to create something of high quality in practice.

In the case of an essay, not so much theoretical knowledge is needed, but still there are certain subtleties, without which you won’t be able to do the job. Depending on the type of essay, the writing style may vary. This can be an essay in a journalistic style, if it is a social topic, or an essay in a scientific style, if it is a research work. The ability to choose the right style of storytelling is 50% success.

Any essay consists of several parts, namely three: introduction, main part and conclusion.

Depending on the type of essay, the structure may vary. For example, the main part can be supplemented with additional parts in the form of comparisons and so on, but the introduction and conclusion remain in any essay, since they are the so-called cover of your essay.

For the main part of the essay, it is very important to draw up a work plan that will greatly facilitate your task. These may be key questions that you would like to answer in your essay or just keywords.

An essay introduction, like a conclusion, can be written in several ways.

Write 10 essays in different ways, and you will see how different the introduction and conclusion are. Typically, the beginning of the introduction is the subject of your essay, rewritten in other words. But here you also need to add a few phrases that will attract the attention of the reader and make him read your essay further. This may be a rhetorical question, a call to action or an intrigue. Write the introduction of the essay so that the reader is interested in continuing to read your essay and further developing the topic.

But the method of writing conclusions must be chosen long before the essay is completed – preferably even before the start of work on the text. In the process of writing the main part, you can outline ideas for the ending. Putting forward and substantiating a new thesis, write it down briefly on a separate sheet – then by the end of the work on the main part you will have a blank for conclusion. Imagine that the reader asks the question: “So what?”. Explain to him, using the conclusion, why the whole text was read by him not in vain, what he must endure for himself. Try to bring the reader to a higher level of awareness of your work. Do not just mechanically repeat what was said earlier, but make him want to answer, argue, or share his experience.
